Lifestyle In Pune
In Brief About Pune City

Pune is the seventh most populous city in India and the second-largest city in the state of Maharashtra, with an estimated population of 7.4 million as of 2020. It has been ranked “the most liveable city in India” several times.
Pune is widely regarded to be the second major IT hub and the most important automobile and manufacturing hub in India. It is also known as the ‘Oxford of the East’ given the presence of a wide range of educational institutions.
Pune, which is also an academic city, has a lot of greenery and a calm atmosphere, and has a long history. I think that the usage of millet can also be used for cooking in Japan, so from now on, I would like to delve into its characteristics while studying the eating habits and festivals of the people of Pune.

How I get connected to Pune city?
It was 2018 when I visited BSDT hospital in Wagholi for the first time to have Panchakarma treatment. The hospital food, which I ate three times a day, was a satisfying meal for me, but it was also easy to digest, which I had never tasted anywhere.
After visiting several times in a row, I have become accustomed to the appearance of the city and felt comfortable in an atmosphere that is not too big city.

The things that make me interested in this city
I found that, in Maharashtra where Pune is located, miscellaneous grains, peanuts, and poppy seeds are well incorporated into the dish, bread called pav and curry are combined, and mithai called modak, which is essential for the big Ganesha festival. I became more and more interested in the local diet there.
I haven’t eaten much in Tokyo before, such as Marathi thali, which is simple but never gets tired of, or Pavbhaji, which is combined mashed veg with bread. As I tried and cooked them myself, I began to want to study more. I think that the usage of millet can also be used for cooking in Japan, so from now on, I would like to delve into its characteristics while experiencing their eating habits and festivals of Pune.
